Sorry to hear about your loss. I started a study some time ago that is still in progress. It seems that many of the bible characters whom we admire for their faith and commitment to God experienced loss and tragedy in their lives. Joseph was mercilessly betrayed and sold into slavery. Daniel was captured and taken to a heathen land. Noah experienced the upheaval of a world-wide flood. Naomi lost her husband and both sons. And Job…well you know the story. Its easy to read these stories and overlook and fail to consider the emotional content for the people involved. Sometimes life can be inexplicably bitter, but it made heroes out of them and has the providential potential through God’s grace to do the same for us.

You are absolutely correct regarding the bible characters that we admire. There’s a verse in a song that says the devil meant it for bad but God meant it for my good. There is definitely providential potential for us as we place our trust in Him. Even when we don’t understand. We still must trust His plan.
Thank you so much for sharing. Are you by chance a counselor?
